Ensuring the best fit

Unlike conventional earbuds that need to be pushed into the ear canal to perform as designed, Bose® in-ear headphones are engineered to nest comfortably in the outer bowl of your ear. The contoured, soft silicone headphone tips should rest gently in this natural bowl, right outside your ear canal. The unique shape and choice of materials help assure a more accurate, comfortable fit.

Compared to conventional earbuds, the ideal fit for Bose in-ear headphones will feel barely snug at first. But as you continue to use them, you'll find that this fit provides quality sound and comfort. The soft silicone tip barely contacts the opening to your ear canal and provides just enough contact to stay in place and feel good, even during long listening sessions.

Removable small (white), medium (gray) and large (black) tips are included with your headphones, so you can select the best size for the most accurate fit. These tips are color coded to make it easier to distinguish among them.

Locate the left (L) and right (R) markings on the headphones and check to be sure the silicone in-ear tips are securely attached. Insert the headphones with the tips side in toward your ear—the tips are the only part that should be in contact with your ear. If the fit doesn't feel right, try switching to a different size tip. And don't be surprised if the best option for you is a different size tip for each ear.

For use during rigorous activity, you may prefer to move up one tip size to deliver just a little more contact with your ear.
